Craig Roodt

Senior manager, market risk, Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA)

Roodt started his career with Deloitte, where he qualified as a chartered accountant, before moving into financial services and performing a variety of roles including internal audit, financial analysis and control, and product pricing. Roodt then moved to APRA in the market risk area, where he has spent most of the past nine years focused on investment risk issues. He is now senior manager in market risk with responsibility for investment, liquidity and balance sheet risks at insurers and superannuation funds. Roodt has been involved in numerous reviews of regulated institutions to assess their risk management in these areas; contributes to policy development within APRA; and was involved in the authorship of the APRA/ASIC Unit pricing: Guide to good practice, and presents on these topics on behalf of APRA. During his time at APRA, Craig has also been seconded to the Monetary Authority of Singapore. In addition to being a chartered accountant Roodt is a Fellow of FINSIA and has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and recently completed the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) course.
