Keynote Address - Keeping the money flowing
In spite of gloomy predictions for the global economy, Australia’s economy is wrapped in more optimism than most. It looks as though an enlarged domestic bond market will be introduced in the foreseeable future, raising the issue of whether Australia can supplement its exports to China with an uninterruptible flow from super contributions to domestic capital expenditure. Much like old-fashioned bankers, fund managers will one day need to know how to assess the risk of these new debt instruments from the outset.
